It is the seventh track on the album and was released on October 16th, The song talks about a relationship where no matter what Billie does, the other person always leaves her in the end. She hides her emotions by lying, saying that she enjoys being alone when in reality she is incredibly sad. I've learned to lose, you can't afford to Tore my shirt to stop you bleedin' But nothing ever stops you leavin' [Chorus] Quiet when I'm coming home and I'm on my own I could lie, say I like it like that Like it like that I could lie, say I like it like that Like it like that [Verse 2] Don't you know too much already? I'll only hurt you if you let me Call me friend, but keep me closer call me back And I'll call you when the party's over [Chorus] Quiet when I'm coming home and I'm on my own And I could lie, say I like it like that Like it like that Yeah, I could lie, say I like it like that Like it like that [Bridge] But nothing is better sometimes Once we've both said our goodbyes Let's just let it go Let me let you go [Chorus] Quiet when I'm coming home and I'm on my own I could lie, say I like it like that Like it like that I could lie, say I like it like that Like it like that. The song was released on October 17, , through Darkroom and Interscope Records. It was written and produced by Finneas O'Connell. The concept behind "When the Party's Over" was inspired after Finneas O'Connell , Billie Eilish 's brother, had left his date's house "kind of for no reason" and was driving home alone late at night, simultaneous unhappy at the end of the relationship but also feeling a sense of safety through a lack of full investment in it. Eilish and O'Connell decided that the track would be "almost entirely" vocal, utilising only sub-bass and acoustic piano as additional instruments; this made it "super challenging" to keep each measure interesting. It is composed in the key of C minor , with Eilish's vocal range between the notes of E 3 and E 5. Eilish has described the song as "kind of a sequel" to her single " Party Favor " , documenting when "you're on the phone with someone and you can't hear them, they can't hear you, it's loud, they're mad at you for some reason" and consequently thinking: "You know what?
Never ask vague questions and give her definite options instead. I'd suggest taking issue with things that specifically bug you the most. I have a tendency to be overly sensative emotionally and the trauma of being forced to choose between someone I love and want to spend the rest of my with and Eternal Mormon Celestial Salvation caused me extensive emotional damage that I have struggled with ever since. I thought she would grow out of it. We can also save our errant children by our valiancy too.
